CREEDMOOR, NORTH CAROLINA – CS Medical is pleased to announce the successful completion of a study on the effectiveness of the TD 100 Automated TEE Probe Disinfector, when used with either TD-5® or TD-8® high-level disinfectant, to remove HPV (human papillomavirus) from TEE probes. The study was conducted at the request of our Canadian customers as well as new regulations being reviewed by the Canadian Ministry of Health. The concern over HPV transmission has primarily focused in the transvaginal market place over the last decade. In recent months, the Canadian Health Authority has taken steps to include TEE probes as a potential patient risk. CS Medical, while working closely with a leading US state university, successfully completed studies on both the TD-5 and TD-8 when used in the TD 100. The state university laboratory has been at the forefront of research and many consider this laboratory the leading authority in the study of HPV 16 and 18.

"Today's news is reassuring in that the TD 100 has been, for over a decade, a valuable tool in the fight to reduce HAIs. Our science team at CS Medical worked closely with both the Canadian customer and university laboratory team to answer the call for more assurance in our product abilities. This continues to show CS Medical's commitment to support our customers and the healthcare community in finding solutions to the hard problems that face our healthcare system." said Mark Leath, CS Medical President. "We are committed to continuing our efforts to work with healthcare professionals and other professional organizations in the reduction of HAIs and increase awareness for a better and safer healthcare system."

About CS Medical

CS Medical LLC has pioneered the automated disinfection process for Transesophageal ultrasound probes with the development and release of the TD 100 Automated TEE Probe Disinfector. The TD 100 is the first FDA cleared automated disinfection process with printed verification for Transesophageal ultrasound probes. During the disinfection process, the TEE probe receives high-level disinfection in (5) five minutes from TD-5® or TD-8® followed by (5) five complete rinse cycles before disinfection confirmation is acknowledged and a report is printed. The verification report indicates probe contact time with the high-level disinfectant as well as the average temperature of the single-use disinfectant during each cycle.

For more than 10 years and over 3 million high-level disinfections, the TD 100 Automated TEE Probe Disinfector has eliminated manual reprocessing of delicate and expensive TEE ultrasound probes while also providing a repeatable and FDA cleared disinfection process.

CS Medical's products provide quality device care and storage by minimizing healthcare operational costs, improving service readiness and increasing regulatory compliance.
